Hello, I’m Mira, a freelance communication designer based in Hamburg, Germany. I have more than 20 years of experience in the field of graphic design. In fact, I’m already old enough that I was basically around when digital design, as we know and appreciate it today, was invented. I did learn on a computer – the grayish Macintosh with the rainbow-colored Apple logo – does anyone remember those?
But back then there was no UX, UI, web, or AI design yet, none of these buzzwords existed. But design did. And so did Adobe. ;)
So, what is design all about? It’s visual communication.
I have designed hundreds of magazines, books, ads, calendars, business reports and merchandise items. I have developed and visualized communication strategies for products, built corporate identities for institutions, SMEs, and solo entrepreneurs and also led workshops on infographics and editorial design. And that’s exactly what I still do and love.

Hallo, ich bin Mira, freiberufliche Kommunikationsdesignerin aus Hamburg. Ich blicke auf über 20 Jahre Erfahrung im Bereich Grafikdesign zurück. Tatsächlich bin ich schon so alt, dass ich quasi dabei war, als das digitale Design, wie wir es heute kennen und schätzen, erfunden wurde. Ich habe zwar schon am Computer gelernt – einem grauen Macintosh mit einem regenbogenfarbenen Apfel – erinnert sich noch jemand daran? Aber damals gab es noch kein UX-, UI-, Web- oder KI-Design. Design gab es aber schon. Und Adobe. ;) Was macht gutes Design aus? Es ist visuelle Kommunikation.
Ich habe hunderte Zeitschriften, Bücher, Kalender, (Geschäfts-)berichte und Merchandise-Artikel gestaltet. Ich habe für Produkte Kommunikationsstrategien konzipiert und visualisiert, Corporate Designs für Institutionen, KMUs und Einzelkämpfer*innen entwickelt. Ich habe Workshops zu Infografiken und Editorial Design gegeben. Und all das mache ich noch immer – und habe immer noch große Freude daran.
